The Legend Never Dies…

Possibly illegal screenie of a certain beta I got accepted into.

What I’ve been up to.

Well, as many of you might (or might not) have noticed, I haven’t been quite as active as I used to be. Well, I’ve been getting into some games that require a bit of time investment, and I thought it would be a good idea to share them with you!

#1 Warframe

A very fast-paced third person shooter/stealth game. It’s currently in open beta, and is set for full-launch on PS4 and PC sometime in November. Great for those of you who like lot’s of sci-fi action with melee and firearms alike. Best of all: it’s free! Well, mostly free. Only things that require money are much of the cosmetics like colors for your character and inventory slots, BUT they give you some of the premium currency with your account to spend as you please. (I recommend the slots). This is the main game that I’ve been playing lately.

#2 The Secret World

I really enjoy the direction this game takes. It is an MMO, but what sets it apart is the modern setting, and certain gameplay mechanics. The premise is that you are an agent of one of 3 secret societies (The Illuminati, the Knights Templar, or Dragon) and investigate many real-life places such as London, the Solomon Islands, and Transylvania. Much of what I like about this game is the mission/quest and ranking system. First of all, there are no ranks or levels, or classes. You can build your character’s skills however you please, utilizing the 12(i think?) weapon types. Any one character can unlock every skill in the game. You can also use of to two weapons at once, to enhance your power. Another great thing is the quest system. They aren’t cookie-cutter “go kill x amount of these, then come back,” but the mission descriptions can be very vague and actually forces you to think, be it solving riddles or finding objectives. The game even comes with an in-game browser if you get stuck on where to go. But those of you (Draco :P ) be warned, some NPC dialogue is a bit vulgar, so I advise headphones. Also it doesn’t require a monthly subscription, but a one-time payment of $30.

#3 War Thunder

Quite a fun game. Also in beta, it is set in WWII setting. It is something along the lines of World of Tanks, but it stretches across 3 different terrains: air, sea, and land. It currently only have the air battles implemented for now, but it is still quite fun.

For the Oldies

Found this neat website that lets you make wallpapers with your own skins that can be inserted. The one you see here came to me when I got the idea to make an ode to all the oldest members. This was the only one I could find with this many people, so I only put in the currently active/semi-active members. I also added a filter I thought worked perfectly, named “Nostalgia.” Can you guess all of them? :D (Hint: Some of the skins are misleading…)

Ion’s Dropship Submission

Well, since Bucky was so early in posting his submission, I just finished mine earlier and am I now showing it for your viewing pleasure. It is a more compact design, making it much smaller than Bucky’s, but I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Alright, in the Lieutenant’s leave of absence I had “volunteered” to do his job for question of the week! So, here goes….

If all video game universes were to collide in a huge battle royale, which would emerge victorious? (Choices are not limited to those depicted above.)
